The Birkman Method, unlike other types of personality & career assessment tools, gives the most accurate and specific information for individuals by including capturing underlying needs. When emotional & social needs are addressed, people can identify what causes stress and will learn to relate to others in a more constructive and beneficial manner. People thrive in their true selves at home & at work when self-aware in a more fully engaged highly productive way.

People between the ages of 16-24 are often making long-term decisions regarding career choices, community engagement, close friends and life-partners. While the impact of these decisions carries long-term outcomes, many young adults are ill-equipped to determine what the optimal path is for themselves. Self-awareness of thought processes, recognition of true interests and advocating for emotional, social and psychological needs are often difficult to decipher.
The impact of college and career decisions carries long-term repercussions, and many young adults are ill-equipped to determine what the optimal path is for themselves. Self-awareness of thoughts, true interests and emotional, social and psychological needs are often difficult to decipher. Daniel Goleman in his book Emotional Intelligence explains self-awareness is the key to unlocking the ability to notice and monitor our emotions and thoughts. A study by Cornell University uncovered that self-awareness was the strongest predictor to overall success. The ability for a junior/senior in high school to know themselves well is a key component to decision making.
Brene` Brown states in her book Rising Strong: “Without self-awareness and the ability to manage our emotions, we often unknowingly lead from hurt, not heart. Not only is this a huge energy suck for us and the people around us, it creates distrust, disengagement, and an eggshell culture. "
The Birkman Method identifies an individual’s social and emotional needs, captures their stress indicators, pinpoints unique personality traits and interests, and ultimately directs each person to the best fit of college/career choices. BestColleges released an article February 27, 2020, stating that “[If] schools help students align their majors with their ideal career paths — rather than just emphasizing graduating on time — it could improve overall satisfaction in the major.” The article also emphasizes the results of the survey of recent graduates noting the importance they place on pursuing their passions as their careers. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, about 80 percent of college students change their major at least once. Families are able to save a great deal of time, money and heartache by forward-thinking the best path for a student post high school. Wisely planning means students take classes necessary for their degree plan based on best career fits. The Birkman coaching also assists with roommate and family conflict-resolution situations.
The Birkman Method, unlike other types of personality and career assessment tools, gives the most accurate and specific information for individuals. The Birkman Method is a multi-dimensional assessment integrating behavioral, motivational and occupational data and has been scientifically developed to enhance and predict interpersonal and occupational success.

“Working with Tamara and using the Birkman assessment really helped my junior in high school figure out an accurate career path as well as discover things about himself that can help him to be a successful person. We’ve been able to reference back to what we discovered in that tool, and he has grown in his ability to work with others.”

Mrs. Cindy Nelson, Mother of three, President of Reset Ministries
“When my daughter went through the consultation with Tamara Polvogt, she received input about her strengths and weaknesses and a clear vision of what her career path could look like. We were both very impressed with Tamara’s presentation and left the meeting feeling more excited about future possibilities and classes for her to take in college. We also got a better understanding of my daughter’s personality traits and how she can view others through a better understanding of herself. As a mother of four children, this is an amazing tool, and I cannot wait for my other kids to take the Birkman and benefit from the findings as well. Thank you, Tamara!”
